What is CuffLinks.com? 

CuffLinks.com was born in 1999 when our founder noticed that there were no solid online retail outlets for cufflinks and other men’s accessories.  He launched CuffLinks.com from a dorm room in Austin, Texas, and all of the products from the initial launce were sold out within 1 hour. 14 years later, our selection has grown from a handful of cufflinks to over 4,000 men’s accessories (and growing daily).

 

What would you consider a standard size of cufflink? 

Most of the cufflinks we carry measure between ½” x ½” and 1” x 1”. There is no standard size, per se, it’s really about preference.  The dimensions of the product should be noted under Product Specifications on the item page. 


What are the differences in the metals the cufflinks are constructed of? 

Most of our products are constructed of .925 sterling silver, stainless steel, palladium, or a plated base metal. We also offer items in 14 and 18k gold. 

Sterling silver is a soft metal, and ideal for engraving.  Sterling items will require polishing over time. Oxidization occurs when silver is exposed to oxygen so the best way to avoid it is by storing your cufflinks in a storage case. Wearing your cufflinks regularly will also help keep them from tarnishing as the fabric on your French Cuff shirt will keep them polished. 

Stainless steel is a very strong metal that does not corrode or rust.  It’s strength and resistance to damage is ideal for cufflinks. 

Palladium is a metallic alternative to platinum. It has been used interchangeably with platinum in precious metal jewelry since the 1930’s. It’s a very brilliant and strong metal. 

Plated items are constructed of a base combination of metals, and then plated with silver or rhodium. The base combination of the metals can vary. 

 

How long will it take for my order to ship?

Domestic orders typically ship the same business day (or the following business day if the order is placed after 1PM EST). 

Special order items require additional time to process -- anywhere from 2-6 weeks (as noted on the item).

 

Once processed, when can I expect my order to be delivered?

UPS Ground orders shipped from our Dallas, Texas warehouse are typically delivered in 1-4 business days depending on your location.

We also offer expedited options – 3-Day Select ($10), 2nd Day Air ($12) and Next Day Air ($25).

Please note that all transit times are M-F only.

How often do you add new items?

We typically have new items added to our website on a weekly basis, usually on Fridays. Be sure to check our New Arrivals page for our most recent additions.

Can you send me a catalog?

We don’t currently produce paper catalogs. The stock on our site changes daily so a catalog would be obsolete by the time it made it to the printing stage.

How do I include special engraving instructions?

We love creative engraving! Simply give us a call at 1-877-283-3565 to speak with one of our lovely customer service agents who can assist you in placing the order over the phone with detailed instructions for the engraver.

Please note that engraving will be done exactly as entered, we will not change the order of anything in the instructions.

Please be sure to review your confirmation email to ensure that all information was entered accurately. Call us if anything needs to be updated so we can ensure it is corrected in a timely fashion.

 

How can I make changes to/cancel an order I just placed?

Orders are typically processed within 30 minutes of being received, so there’s a very small window in which to conduct any changes or process cancellation.

Please have your order number available and call our customer service line at 1-877-283-3565 (available 10AM-6PM EST) to apply any changes to your order.

Please note that if your order has been processed for shipping, we are unable to change or cancel the order.

How much is shipping for my order? How is this calculated?

Domestic orders have 4 shipping methods available:

UPS Ground $8 [Free for orders over $100] (2-5 Business Days)
UPS 3 Day Select $10 (3 Business Days Guaranteed)
UPS 2-Day Air $12 (2 Business Days Guaranteed)
UPS Next Day Air $25.00 (1 Business Day Guaranteed)

International (Price and transit time will vary, depending on the delivery location)

All transit times are M-F, Saturday delivery is available in select locations at an additional cost. International delivery cannot be guaranteed within a time frame due to customs.

International shipping is calculated at checkout based on your exact delivery address.

 

I found a coupon code but it is not working. Why?

We are not affiliated with coupon sites, so if you located a discount code anywhere other than on our site or through our email list, it may be a coupon codes that is not correct or that is no longer valid.

There are some codes with restrictions, such as sale items excluded or a minimum purchase required.

 

Can I place an order over the phone?

Do your items have a manufacturer’s warranty?

Some items have a 1-year manufacturers warranty, but it varies by brand. Please contact us (link to customerservice@cufflinksinc.com) if you would like more information.

 

How will I know my order is being processed?

A confirmation email will be provided shortly after we receive your order. When your order is being processed for shipping, we will notify you via email and will provide a tracking number.

What are the differences in the types of backings you offer?

We offer several different backings, and here are our most common fixtures:

Bullet and Torpedo Backings – Our most common backings, the bullet and torpedo back closures are very easy to use. Simply flip the backing vertically 90 degrees into the post, and slip through your cuff. Once through the cuff, flip the backing back another 90 degrees to secure in place.

Whale – The whale back closure will flip flat against the straight post for an easy way to insert into your cuff. Flip the tail back to secure the cufflink. A great feature of the whale backing is the ability to add a custom engraved message. *Please note engraving is only available on Ravi Ratan items with a whale back closure
Fixed – Fixed backings typically feature a curved post and are constructed as one solid piece (backing does not move). Since no parts move, it can be a little more difficult to insert into the cuff. The best way to affix these to your cuff is to maneuver the backing through the first part of the cuff, and then through the second part of the cuff. Once inserted, adjust the cufflink as necessary to ensure it’s comfortable and secure. Sometimes fixed backings are reversible, leaving you multiple options of how to wear your pair.

Chain – The classic cufflinks backing. A chain joins the two faces of the cufflinks, giving the wearer multiple options on which face to display. These cufflinks can require a little more effort to put on (similar to the fixed backings) but provide a little more comfort for those who prefer a looser cuff.


How do I keep my silver jewelry from tarnishing?

Unfortunately, tarnishing is a natural reaction that occurs when silver is exposed to oxygen. The best way to avoid tarnishing is to store your cufflinks in a storage box in a cool, dry place.

We recommend using only a soft polishing cloth to polish your silver.

 

Do you have stud sets available in a set of 5? (Big and Tall)

When will my engraved order be processed?

Orders placed by 2PM EST with engraving are typically engraved and shipped within 1 business day (same day if we can accommodate that!). We pride ourselves on speedy service!

My order confirmation says my item is on backorder, what does this mean?

If your confirmation email notes an item is backordered, it means we are currently out of stock.
